Circulatory/Swedish Massage: Swedish Massage, also known as Circulatory massage, is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. Oil or lotion is applied to the skin so techniques such as gliding, stripping, kneading and percussion can be applied with ease. These movements promote general relaxation and improve blood circulation and assist the lymphatic system in cleansing the body of normal metabolic waste products. Clients undress according to their comfort level and are appropriately draped with a sheet. Circulatory Massage can be performed at varying degrees of depth to the body, please specify at the time of booking if you prefer of a deeper touch.

Deep Tissue Massage:  Is best for chronically tight or painful muscles. We focus on areas where muscle tension is greatest to relieve pain and facilitate greater mobility.
Using a series of deep compressions, pressure is slowly increased as the muscle tissue relaxes and invites the therapist's hands deeper into the tissue. This work can help release chronic pain and muscle tension. Unlike a deeper circulatory massage, which encompasses the entire body; Deep Tissue Sculpting sessions target only one or two areas of the body for which the client asks to have addressed.

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT):  Is a very specialized form of manual therapy.

By definition, Neuromuscular Therapy is the utilization of static pressure on specific myofascial points to relieve pain. This technique manipulates the soft tissue of the body (muscles, tendons and connective tissue) to balance the central nervous system. In a healthy individual, nerves transmit impulses (which are responsible for every movement, function and thought) to the body very slowly. Injury, trauma, postural distortion or stress cause nerves to speed up their transmission, inhibiting equilibrium and making the body vulnerable to pain and dysfunction. It is therefore necessary to stabilize low levels of neurological activity to maintain normal function and overall health.

Neuromuscular Therapy will be used to address five elements that cause pain:

Ischemia: Lack of blood supply to soft tissues which causes hypersensitivity to touch.

Trigger Points: Highly irritated points in muscles which refer pain to other parts of the body.

Nerve Compression or Entrapment: Pressure on a nerve by soft tissue, cartilage or bone.

Postural Distortion: Imbalance of the muscular system resulting from the movement of the body off the longitudinal and horizontal planes.

Biomechanical Dysfunction: Imbalance of the musculoskeletal system resulting in faulty movement patterns (i.e., poor lifting habits, bad mechanics in a golf swing or tennis stroke, computer keyboarding).
